Extra Curricular Activies for Zoology?

I'm pursuing my BAS in Zoology next month, but I'd like to know what kind of extra curricular activities I could take part in that would further my knowledge and/or look good on a resume when applying to work with animals at a zoo or aquarium?. I will be attending Western New Mexico University FYI. I know there is no straight forward answer, but some tips from someone in this field would be immensely helpful.
